About Tennessee Off-Road LLC
Tennessee Off-Road opened its doors to the public in 1996 in downtown Nashville. It was the love of the sport that inspired the original owners to start a 4x4 shop. In 2005 it was purchased by John “Pokey” McGee, and in 2007 the business moved from Downtown Nashville to Lebanon, which is just east of Nashville Tennessee. The facility in Lebanon is 3600SF with approximately 5 acres of parking and 5 acres of rock crawling. The rock area is used for both testing vehicles built by TOR and for the monthly cruise in’s hosted at TOR. Ownership and location may have changed but TOR still maintains High Quality workmanship and Top Notch Customer Service. It is the passion of the 4x4 enthusiasts who have made TOR Middle Tennessee’s Premier 4x4 Shop for the past 12 years. Thank you for your support!

About our Services
TOR services all major makes / models of 4-wheel drive vehicles. This includes general maintenance (fluid / oil changes, brake jobs, tune ups ect…), motor swaps, transmission / transfer case installations.

TOR sells & installs lift kits (suspension & body), wheels, tires, winches, performance upgrades (programmers, headers, cold air intakes, exhausts, etc…), gears, lockers, & diesel performance parts. We have over 40 years combined experience in the 4 wheel drive industry. Anything you can think of for your 4 wheel drive we sell and install.

TOR specializes in custom fabrication. Our fabricators can create custom roll cages, bumpers, and rock sliders for your 4x4. Or if you prefer you can purchase one of our standard roll cages or front and/or rear bumpers for Jeep CJ’s, TJ’s, YJ’s. TOR's fabricators can also custom fabricate a tire gates & roof racks. If you want your own custom off-road vehicle TOR can create and build a custom tube chassis to your specifications. Safety is our top priority, which is why, All of our cages, whether custom or standard, are made of 1 ¾” 120 wall DOM.

John “Pokey” McGee, Owner
About Me:
Served in the United States Navy. Honorably discharged in 1993. Purchased first Jeep in 1995 and started wheelin. Married Kim in 1997 and in the same year started the company Jeep Sales in Lebanon TN. My 1st child “CJ” was born 2001 and my 2nd child “TJ” was born 2005. (Yes, it is a Jeep thing). Purchased Tennessee Off-Road, LLC in May 2005.

Build List:
1995 Wrangler 4cyl 5 speed. Built it up with 3” suspension, 3” body lift, 35” MT’s and a winch. Still own the Jeep. 1982 Scrambler (courtesy of my Wife), complete restoration for four wheeling. Added 4” springs, spring over, lockers front and rear, winch and cage. Sold the jeep to start another project. Built a 1998 TJ with 4cyl, 5 speed, 6” long arm 3 link, 4.1, 4.88’s ARB’s, tube fenders, 36” IROKs lots of mods.

Hobbies:
4 wheeling, camping, Nascar, UT Football, spending time with my two boys CJ & TJ. Over the years I have over 200 Jeeps, but currently only own 13 Jeeps.

Phillip Roddy, Technician & Fabricator
About Me:
Four wheelin for 15 years. Fabricating for 10 years. Technician / Fabricator for TOR for 1 year. First rig 1979 Blazer with 35” boggers 6 inch lift 9000 lb winch and ¾ ton axles.

Build list:
1979 blazer, 1985 blazer, 1979 short bed Chevy, 1981 CJ-7 with one ton Chevy axles and all Chevy drive train with four link suspension. 1989 suburban with ¾ ton axles, 6 inch suspension with 35” boggers.

Most Extensive Build:
Started with a 1989 Blazer put on 6 inches of lift for 40” boggers on 1 ton Chevy axles with detroit lockers and dual winches. I removed the body put on an s-10 cab, built a full EXO cage and four linked the rear. I installed a dual transfer case with 5.44 low range.

Current Build:
Full tube frame buggy with room for 4 people, front and rear steerable rockwell axles with 2 transfer cases.

Other Hobbies:
Heavy Metal drumming and playing with my kids and making my wife mad.
